The theme!

Pop it in a line of dialogue. Use it in the background of a shot. Name your film after it. Name a character after it. Theme your whole extensive and backstory-laden two-minute plot around it. Use it as a MacGuffin. Pluralize it. Capitalize it. Run with it. Love it. Cause one way or another, it's gotta be in there.

With much excitement and drumrolls all around... the theme is:
"Watch for the Hand"

This brings the lineup so far to:

  1. Matt Bielewicz
  2. Charles Benoit
  3. Lindsay Muscato

Goals, Theme & Requirements

Goal – 5 Films, Festival
5 films in total would be a great goal. Once the films are all complete, we'll have a film festival! Depending on a lot of factors (how many people, time of year when we finish, etc.) it might be in a backyard with a projector and sound system, might be at a rented theater, all depends!

Theme
I will provide a short phrase that will become the theme of this little film festival. Writers/Directors can choose how to incorporate it—whether it's the title, an overarching theme, a line of dialogue, throwaway prop in the background, etc.
EDIT: The theme is "Watch for the Hand"

Production Requirements
  • 2 minute runtime (+/- :30)
  • HD video – 1080p preferred, 720p acceptable
  • High-quality sound – i.e. probably not just the camera's internal mic for dialogue and location sound.

This is going to be awesometown!
